URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Climate Change, Gender Issues, & Foreign Occupation in Danger at UN
I am calling to each and every one of you.
The SILENCE has been broken! The United Nations Ministerial Declaration regarding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2017 High Level Political Forum (HLPF) is very close to being finalized. There are, however, elements which remain unresolved. Certain countries have announced that the Ministerial Declaration will not pass next week if it includes strong mentions of climate change, gender issues, and foreign occupation. As all of us are impacted by at least one of these issues, we need to do everything in our power to ensure they are included in the Declaration. In the spirit of the 2030 Agenda and the HLPF stance that “no one should be left behind,” your voices need to be heard! Nonviolence International is launching an Outreach Campaign to convince UN delegations to sign the Declaration with its original strong wording on those three issues; only then will we see progress.
Our goal is to get thousands of people sharing on social media and personally writing the delegates, pleading that the Declaration be accepted in order to support the world in one more year of progress in SDG implementation. We can make a difference by following these simple steps:
Tell everyone you know that this is going on, and urge them to participate.
Using the links below, send emails to the Delegations urging them to sign the declaration as is.
Choose Delegations by accessing their contact info here.
Write emails using these templates here. Share this content in on your social media accounts and lets pressure the delegates to accept the Declaration
